My name is Tandi de Jager, the founder and director of Trinkettree Marketing. Our company is involved with a wonderful project called the “Foster Camp Project” in collaboration with Badisa Tygerberg, a non-profit Child Protection organization with the vision “Action today, excellence tomorrow,” and Land Service Western Cape, a youth organization. In our imperfect world, social problems within the disadvantaged communities where Badisa Tygerberg provides services are rampant. Adults who care for children are often unemployed and/or struggling with addiction, while gangsterism and gang violence run rampant. These circumstances lead to a high incidence of family violence, coupled with physical, emotional, and sexual abuse of children. 

Children who have been neglected or abused often need to be removed from their parents’ care and placed in alternative care, including foster care. Badisa Tygerberg currently provides foster care supervision services to approximately 400 children. We are planning to host a camp for 80 children who have been placed in foster care and receive services from Badisa Tygerberg. The aim of the “Foster Camp Project” is to broaden the children’s horizons and provide them with an opportunity they would likely never experience otherwise. During the camp, the children will be removed from the negative aspects of their community for a weekend, enjoying homecooked meals and engaging in fun activities. Additionally, we are striving to provide each child with a small gift and take them on a special excursion. This camp will thus be both educational and enriching for these children. However, the realization of this camp depends on the generosity of donors who can understand the needs of others and are willing to lend a helping hand. With everyone’s expertise and support, we are confident that we will raise enough funds to bring this incredible dream to life.
